Himawari was established by Kristin Birkeland. And she works together with people from her network such as Paul Natorp, The KaosPilots, Anna Margrethe Andersen at Frontløberne, Changepilot and 370 degrees.

The name, Himawari, was found in 2008 while visiting the international known artist Mariko Moris exhibition Oneness, which is a great inspiration of how we are all connected. The word Himawari is japanese for Sunflower. The sunflower is the metaphor for the service of Himawari. What we focus on grows. And as the process unfolds, we choose to turn, just like the sunflower, towards the sun.
